I’m thrilled that you found this cozy corner of the internet. I am a mom, Montessori school teacher, baker, crafter, and most importantly, a follower of Jesus. I believe in family, community, eating real food, and finding joy in creating handmade items. I consider myself “semi crunchy” -appreciating ways to “live clean” but also with some modern practicality.

Born and raised in Texas, I moved to Fredericksburg, Ohio in my 30s. Living alongside the surrounding Amish community has allowed me to rediscover the traditional skills that our fast-paced world often overlooks. This blog is a window into my world – a place where I share my experiences of full time teaching alongside being a mom and homemaker.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where Did The Blog Name Come From?

“Home on Salt Creek” refers to the creek that runs along the Ohio to Erie bike trail right behind my home. Walking along the trail is where my brain is allowed to dream, pray, and enjoy the sounds of birds and Amish buggies.

How Long Have You Been Baking?

I have been baking since I was in grade school, often helping my mother and grandmother in the kitchen. To me, homemade food is not only a way to nourish a family but also serves as a bridge to blessing the community around us.

Do You Work Full Time?

Currently, I co-teach 4th-6th grade at a Montessori school full time. My goal is to share tried and true recipes and tips for homemaking to women who dream of homesteading but work full time and need practical advice.
